When we get Mainframe Migration opportunities...we have to havea phased approach to migrate all apps...In some cases, customers just want to move some MF apps , not all...

It makes it easy to be able to move the DB2 mainframe databases to SQL Server...if Mainframe apps could be made to point to SQL Server...using DRDA...

This keeps changes to apps , that still remain on MF, to a minimum...there by reducing risk and cost of migration. Would be huge win...!! If we had DRDA support in SQL Server.
